Atlantic City International Airport
is a joint civil-military International airport which is located at approximately 16 kilometers northwest of the Atlantic City, New Jersey. This facility is operated and maintained by the New Jersey Transportation Authority in conjunction with the Port Authority on New York and New Jersey.
The airport is served by the Spirit Airlines who operate 3 jetliners namely; Airbus A319, A320 and A321. Caesars Entertainment also operates flights in this airport to most cities which are east of the Mississippi River. United Airlines once operated a series of flights starting in April 2014, but had to terminate their operations in December 2014 due to lack of viability of the business.
In the recent past, the South Jersey Transportation Authority has laid out plans for massive and extensive terminal expansion. This will be needed with the increased number of airlines serving the airport. The passenger traffic of this airport ranges around one million per year.
Atlantic City International Airport has a single terminal. Some of the charters carriers operate outside the terminal together with scheduled flights of the Spirit Airlines. This terminal has a somewhat small layout making it an ideal alternative to the Newark Liberty International Airport and the Philadelphia International Airport.
This airport has a six-story parking garage with a well-covered and established walkway which is a short distance to the terminal building. The parking lot also consists of rental car facilities in case you need any. It is operated round the clock seven days a week.
Passengers on flight to the Atlantic City get a magnificent bird’s eye view of the clear and beautiful Atlantic skyline. They are also able to get a clear aerial view of the coastline of the Jersey Shore. The airport’s terminal and general operations are easy to navigate. Luggage collection and exit from the airport to the streets only takes a few minutes.
On top of the car rental services available in this airport, taxis are also easily available at ACY. They can be found either directly outside of the terminal or in the baggage claim area. There is also a free shuttle service which makes stop overs at five locations within the airports parking lot. This provides a means of transport for passengers who are traveling within the airport.
Atlantic City International Airport ranks at number one hundred and two in terms of the busiest airports in the United States. Its location and services are the exact meaning of convenience.
